Lee Wulff was the originator of the Wulff series of flies. They have become immensely popular as general searching patterns or as what has turned out to be an astoundingly effective representative pattern of all stages of the Mayfly lifecycle. These patterns can be fished on still or running water to great effect and should certainly not be overlooked by the angler in favour of more 'modern' styled patterns.
