This is a Gold bodied version of the famous Willie Gunn, that most versatile of Salmon patterns. The addition of the Gold body improves the visibility of this otherwise sober-appearing fly without overly-decorating what is in essence a classical pattern. It works very well in clearing water after a spate, when fish are starting to move from their high water lies.
