This pattern imitates the egg-laying stage of the Blue Winged Olive. The spinners fall in the early evening and later afternoon period and Trout can become quite preoccupied on them. Andrew Ryan has recreated this pattern using CDC throughout except for the tail. This creates a flat-floating pattern which is extremely imitative of the natural but also gives the pattern better balance and enables it to float for longer without the need for any greasing whatsoever.
