This is the 'beefed-up' version of that Welsh favourite - the little devil. These variants are tied on Tiemco hooks, use pheasant tail for hackle and tail, and carry a strip of Mylar across their backs to imitate a shellback. They are very effective at finding depth quickly due to the heavy duty hook and their slim profile.
